Providing a restorative toolkit to the people of Portsmouth
Portsmouth Mediation Service is continually growing as a centre of excellence in training and development. As part of our Restorative vision for Portsmouth we have produced a suite of Mediation and Restorative training that can be adapted to many different environments. The content ranges across many different levels and provides local people with the opportunity to gain new skills that can be quickly and easily invested in their local community.

OCN registration certificate
Community Mediation Training
This in depth course is run over 6 days and is accredited by OCN. It covers all the key foundational mediation skills and knowledge and with follow up coaching and mentoring, delegates can soon turn role play into real life.
Following the new challenges presented by the Covid 19 Pandemic, The PMS Training Team has successfully transferred the 6 day community mediation training course online. During the last half of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021, we have delivered 6 courses via Zoom. Each one has been enthusiastically received. Here is what some delegates have said:

Restorative Justice Facilitators Training
We deliver this cutting edge 4 day course every quarter in association with Rane Training. Our chief motivation in running this course is that it always produces Restorative Champions and Ambassadors who become envisioned to put these new skills into practice within their workplaces and communities.
Building a Restorative Culture Course
This flexible training is aimed at the real grassroots of community. Its consists of 3 one and half modules of training. The first module is ‘hearts and minds’ and helps uncover those people who are passionate about building great communities. We are currently delivering this training to Portsmouth City Council helping them to create a restorative environment within their department’s and teams
