Restorative Relationships are Safe as Houses
Portsmouth Mediation Service (PMS) is collaborating with The Portsmouth & District Property Landlords Association (PDPLA) and Portsmouth City Council, both key stakeholders in a plan to pioneer a new Restorative Service for Landlords and Tenants that get caught up with disputes and disagreements. This independent and impartial service will be delivered by PMS, it is envisaged that it will become the future gateway for any Landlord/Tenant problems in the city. PMS will initially take referrals from Landlords who are committed to the scheme and who have bought into the benefits of the restorative approach. Pictured here are some of the socially distanced Landlords who attended an initial breakfast presentation from PMS and who have signed up to the exciting new pilot. The next step will see each of them undergo training that will equip them with a restorative tool kit which will help to prevent any dispute from escalating and becoming entrenched. There will also be an opportunity in the near future for tenants and residents to participate in this training. This restorative vision for the Portsmouth Property Market will reduce the queue of court cases and improve the well-being of Landlords & Tenants alike. We believe as it expands and develops it will become a project that other towns and cities will catch hold of and replicate.
