New Film 4 Old Portsmouth
Portsmouth Mediation Service joined other local organisations and groups at Portsmouth Cathedral to make a presentation/pitch to local residents on projects that would benefit the residents of Old Portsmouth and the young people who visit the Hotwalls & Camber Dock in the hot Summer months. We are delighted that both of our applications were successful as were our friends at Motiv8 who we are collaborating with on a Restorative Vision for this special neighbourhood.
Pictured here with police sergeant Rich Reagan is PMS Mediator Peter Higgins and Leo, a young film maker who together presented their idea to make a New Film 4 Old Portsmouth. Filmed over the Summer of 2023 and with a Premiere in the Autumn, the very production of the movie will engage with the key stakeholders of Old Portsmouth including of course the young people who visit to jump into the sea.
As it captures the many and varied views and perspectives it will be an agent of understanding and healing. The main film will project a ‘glass that is half full’ and seek to stimulate new ideas for an old problem. It would also be very key when addressing things like water safety in local school assemblies.
Also said Leo “alongside the main film we will aim to produce a number of short videos which will be ideal for social media, they would have a long shelf life and be utilised by many local groups and organisations invested in the area”.
