A Manifesto Demonstrating Restorative Works!

Our service manager Steve attended a Restorative Leaders’ Summit this week, the event was hosted by The Restroative Justice Council (RJC) and was convened to provide a space to bring together leaders from across a range of sectors that have a stake in the contribution that restorative justice and restorative practice can make to the development of a more harmonious society. The summit provided an opportunity for leaders to think collectively and strategically about how we influence national policy in the build-up to the next general election. The primary focus was harnessing our collective knowledge to develop a manifesto for change that demonstrates restorative works. There were over twenty-five leaders from across the restorative sector representing criminal justice, health, education and community based practice. Throughout the day delegates discussed a collective vision for restorative justice across key policy areas, the challenges and barriers to achieving this vision and the key asks from politicians and candidates standing at the next general election. The RJC will now work to pull the groups thoughts together into a shared manifesto which is aiming to be published on the 22nd April 2024.
