Social Prescribers Support Patients Caught up in Conflict

Following on from the findings of our Community Research (CPAR) into the impact of everyday conflict on peoples health and wellbeing, it was very timely for Steve & Sue to make a presentation to social prescribers in Portsmouth. They are pictured here with these key people from the Island City Network and the Portsdown Group.

We were able to encourage these teams to look out for patients who presented with anxiety, stress and sadness and to probe for any underlying causes from conflict. Often in these situations a referral to our restorative service can be extremely beneficial. Repairing the hurt and the harm and restoring the relationship is usually a better option to being signed off work sick or being prescribed medication.  

We are also very pleased this new initiative is being supported by The Hampshire Crime Commissioner under the existing Restorative Justice Contract.
